Architectural Design

Residential housing, commercial development, alterations, improvements and conversions. Our designs range from a new front entrance to a one million pound new build.  See our case studies section for some examples of previous projects.

We have an in house Architect, together with experienced design based surveyors who will carefully guide you through the often complex process of obtaining planning, listed building and building regulation approval.

Our commercial clients have asked us to manage alterations, extensions and space planning exercises for them, keeping within their budgets and managing works around their business. This limits impact on their business, allowing them to maintain the business continuity whilst we manage the project and budget on their behalf.

Our public sector clients include schools, hospitals, councils, nursing homes, and doctors surgeries.

FAQ

Q. When do I need planning permission?

A. Planning consent depends upon the nature and size of extension, listed status, conservation areas etc. We would be please to advise on the likely need for consent.

Q. What is the difference between planning permission and building regulations?

A. Planning consent is a permission to carry out development works. Planning drawings tend to deal with the layout size and appearance of the building. Building regulations consent is related to the stability of the works, its thermal efficiency and wellbeing of the users/ occupiers.

Q. Do you provide details for builders to price from?

A. Yes, building regulations drawings are a relatively basic specification. We would be pleased to quote for additional specification, schedules and overseeing works on site for you.
